Bronx Bible Church seeks to glorify God in everything we do. This attitude is especially evident in our worship ministry. This ministry also reflects the ethnic and cultural diversity of our church, and seeks to make everyone feel welcome.
Patterson, with his strong West Indian accent, leads the congregation in worship and song. The Worship team, a colorful and melodic blend of white, Indian, and African Americans, is directed by Angie. Pastor Joe accompanies on the Piano along with a talented young teen who plays the electronic drums. Almost weekly the Bronx Bible Church Choir, gifted individuals, teens, or children perform specials. Musical selections range from contemporary worship, gospel, and occasionally even rap.
The congregation is encouraged to worship the Lord in their own way, clapping, swaying, kneeling, raising arms, and even dancing in place. The emphasis is on worshiping God, not on drawing attention to oneself or interfering with another persons worship. Bible Reading is also a part of our worship and helps us focus on God.
Every week we take a few minutes just to greet and encourage one another with a handshake, hug or kiss. This welcome time is an integral part of our worship. We believe the way we treat others is a reflection of our love for God. That is why we do all we can to treat everyone like family, and make our visitors feel welcome. Our motto is "Just Show Up" God is not a 'respecter of persons' and neither are we. No one is judged by the clothes they wear, or the color of their skin. We want everyone to feel comfortable to express and receive the Love of God.
